2-Day Tanzania Safari: Private Itinerary

A 2-day Tanzania safari is a compact option for travellers with limited time. Combining Tarangire and Ngorongoro provides two very different landscapes, but it requires early starts and a faster pace than a longer safari.

Day 1: Arusha and Tarangire

Collection in Arusha or at the agreed meeting point, followed by a drive to Tarangire National Park. The day is spent exploring its baobabs, river and savannah areas. After the game drive, we continue to accommodation near Karatu or the Ngorongoro area.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

Early departure for the conservation area and descent into the crater, subject to opening times and permits. We look for wildlife without guaranteeing particular species and stop in an authorised picnic area. In the afternoon, we return to Arusha or the agreed destination.

What is normally included

  • Private 4×4 vehicle and driver-guide.
  • Park fees and charges stated in the proposal.
  • One night of accommodation and the agreed meals.
  • Drinking water during the safari.
  • Collection and return within the defined area.

What we need to confirm

The price varies according to group size, accommodation, season and departure point. Flights, visa, travel insurance, special drinks and tips are not included unless the proposal states otherwise. You receive a full breakdown before booking.

Are two days enough?

Two days offer an excellent introduction, but do not allow enough time to reach Serengeti at a sensible pace. To include it, we recommend a longer itinerary; see our 4-day safari or request a tailor-made journey.

Check availability and price

Send us your dates, group size and preferred accommodation. We will check availability and prepare a transparent quotation.

Tips for making the most of a short safari

Arrive in Arusha the day before, avoid scheduling an international flight immediately after the safari, and pack a light overnight bag. Timings depend on traffic, park gates and the pace of wildlife viewing, so we leave a sensible margin whenever your flights allow.
